The primary aim of the consumer electronic industry has always been to usher in those new products and technologies which are helpful in easing the lives of the people. These shall provide answer to their question and give them the choices to select the products that they want. Many large corporations like Sony, Samsung, etc devote time and effort in developing the newer technologies and their applications to create products which satisfy one or the other requirements of the target markets. In the entertainment industry specifically, the technological advancement is more revealing in the numerous products having multiple functions.
Within the segment of the consumer electronics, there is the niche segment of entertainment electronic products which have seen a lot of research effort being put in developing better products. Here are some of the key elements of this new age technological revolution: 1.Miniaturization of components: Technology has enabled the consumers to have the flat and slim LED/LCD/Plasma TV in their homes, offices and showrooms, enabling them to save space.
2.Enhancement of products: Even as miniaturization has happened, the products themselves have been enhanced in terms of the multiplicity of their functions and marked improvements in their audio-visual quality. Now you have products like HDTVs which can be used for internet, video games and other applications and that too with a single port arrangement.
3.Permeation of technology at all levels: This technology automation has not remained confined to only main products but has also permeated to their accompanying accessories like the headphones, HDMI cable wire, ports and other articles.
4.Convergence: The technologies have intermingled with one another. This convergence has led to the transmission and reception of the text, video and image data from one electronic device to the other. These data transfers can occur between computers, mobiles, TVs and other ‘smart' devices facilitating multi-functional and multi-feature product creation. The convergence of information, communication and entertainment technologies has revolutionized all three of them.
5.Wireless technology making headway: Satellites and the signal transmission and reception devices have created a wireless world around us. Satellites have also led to the utilization of certain technologies for civilian use. Some of the uses like remote sensing and prospecting for resources or surveillance activities have been of use to researchers, scientists and other limited categories of people, the use of some like satellite navigation systems (or, sat nav, in short) has been more widespread among the civilians. You can now have sat nav facility in many devices including the mobiles.
These elements of technological revolution have made it possible to make your home or office a quality entertainment hub.
